These two paintings were purchased by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in 2005 with the assistance of a Movable Cultural Property grant accorded by the Minister of Canadian Heritage under the terms of the Cultural Property Export and Import Act and funds provided by the
Historical Association of Annapolis Royal, the Annapolis Heritage Society and Jane and Peter Nicholson, Annapolis Royal. A total of ten paintings were purchased in all by the Gallery.
